Canadian industrial distributor Ficodis Group announced Jan. 21 that it has acquired Tytan Glove and Safety — a supplier of hand protection, safety apparel, respiratory protection and other industrial and PPI equipment.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Montreal-based Ficodis — owned by France-based Descours & Cabaud — is a group of industrial distribution companies across Canada focused in product areas of tools, cutting tools, power transmission and safety equipment.
Ficodis noted that the acquisition will reinforce key strategic partnerships that include Tytan’s exclusive distribution of Magid protective gloves and other safety products in Canada. Meanwhile, Ficodis expects the deal to boost its delivery operations while benefitting from Tytan’s eCommerce platform (launched in 2021).
“The addition of Tytan to the Ficodis Group strengthens our logistics network and deepens our health and safety portfolio,” said Christophe Bévillard, President of Ficodis and Managing Director of Descours & Cabaud North America. “With these new distribution locations, we are gaining responsiveness and reliability to support the major projects that will shape Canada’s economy in the coming years.”
It marks Fidodis’ first bolt-on in the category of health and safety in over five years.
Descours & Cabaud North America was No. 37 on MDM’s 2025 Top Distributors List for Industrial Supplies.
