Building materials distributor Kuiken Brothers Company has reached an agreement to acquire Paramus Building Supply, adding two locations in northern New Jersey.

The Aug. 26 deal includes Paramus Building Supply facilities in Paramus and Bergenfield, NJ, expanding Kuiken Brothers’ presence in Bergen County. Financial terms and an expected closing date were not disclosed.

Kuiken Brothers said it plans to retain the acquired company’s teams while gradually providing them access to Kuiken’s broader product assortment, inventory, logistics and other capabilities. The company said the deal will add inventory and delivery capacity in Bergen County while supporting further growth elsewhere in New Jersey and into New York’s Hudson Valley.

“Bringing our two organizations together is a natural fit,” Kuiken Brothers President Doug Kuiken said in the announcement.

Founded in 1912, family-owned Kuiken Brothers distributes residential and commercial building materials to contractors, builders, remodelers and homeowners. Its product offering includes lumber, engineered lumber, windows, doors, millwork, decking, drywall, insulation, steel framing and other construction products. The company currently operates nine locations across northern New Jersey and southern New York, supported by more than 325 building materials specialists.

Paramus Building Supply, also known as Behnke’s Paramus Building Supply Co., has served the region for more than 70 years. The company distributes lumber, engineered lumber, drywall, insulation, decking, windows, doors, moulding and other building and remodeling products, along with hardware, kitchen and bath products, tools and related supplies.

The acquisition will expand Kuiken Brothers’ network by two locations and deepen its coverage of the northern New Jersey market.
