Decks & Docks Company — a specialty distributor of composite decking and outdoor living building products headquartered in Clearwater, FL — has acquired Service Wholesale, Inc. (SWI), a Downington, PA-based distributor of building and remodeling materials.
According to the company, the transaction supports Decks & Docks’ continued growth as a specialty distribution business with the addition of its first Pennsylvania location and the introduction of roofing and siding materials to its product offering. SWI will operate under the Decks & Docks Company banner, and its employees will continue to service existing customers. o-owners of SWI, Eric and Matthew Schmidt, will continue to lead SWI and reinvest under the Decks & Docks brand.
“We have long been impressed with SWI and the business Eric and Matt have built over the years,” Decks & Docks CEO Shawn Roberts said in a Sept. 8 news release. “Eric, Matt and their colleagues share our commitment to always going the extra mile and doing right by our customers, and the SWI team is a great fit with our team. Their addition to our team further solidifies our position in the Mid-Atlantic and will allow us to better service contractor customers in Pennsylvania.”
“As a family business, we wanted to find a partner who shared our deep commitment to service with integrity, and we have found that with Shawn, Tyler and the entire Decks & Docks team,” Eric and Matthew Schmidt added. “From our first discussions, it was clear the Decks & Docks team also pride themselves on customer service, prompt delivery times and unparalleled product availability. We are excited to work with the Decks & Docks team as we continue to expand our product offering, provide outstanding customer service and remain an employer-of-choice in our community.”
