Private equity-backed residential door distributor Trimlite has acquired Barnett Millworks, expanding its presence across the Southeast and Gulf Coast.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Barnett’s product lineup includes interior and exterior doors, windows, mouldings, columns and stair systems. The company serves customers throughout the Southeast and Gulf Coast, according to its website.
Trimlite said the acquisition adds complementary customer relationships and value-added capabilities while increasing its exposure to some of the country’s fastest-growing residential construction markets.
“Their culture, values and customer-first approach align closely with Trimlite,” Trimlite President and CEO Patrick Hooper said in the company’s Aug. 4 announcement.
Hooper added that Trimlite plans to invest in Barnett’s continued growth while expanding its ability to serve customers throughout North America.
Barnett President and CEO Paul Barnett said selecting an acquirer centered on preserving the company’s culture, creating opportunities for employees and maintaining its established level of customer service.
“We found that partner in Trimlite, and we’re excited for the future,” Barnett said.
Founded in 1982, Trimlite supplies interior and exterior door slabs, prehung doors, door glass, doorlites and related products through wholesale distributors, dealers and OEM customers across the U.S. and Canada.
The Barnett transaction is Trimlite’s fourth acquisition since Wynnchurch Capital invested in the company in July 2021. It is also Trimlite’s second acquisition of 2026, following its March purchase of Harris Door & Millwork, a Pendergrass, GA-based distributor of interior and exterior doors.
Trimlite’s other Wynnchurch-era acquisitions include Ohio-based exterior door products and hardware distributor Francis-Schulze Company.
