Hardware and finishing products distributor and manufacturer Richelieu Hardware acquired Midwest Specialty Products from mergers and acquisitions advisory firm Generational Group.
Terms were not disclosed, but the deal closed on Jan. 13.
Richelieu is a distributor and manufacturer of hardware and finishing products used in cabinetry, woodworking and interior design. Offering a catalog of over 130,000 items, the Canada-based company serves a broad customer base that includes kitchen manufacturers, contractors, designers and architects. Richelieu is publicly traded and generated $1.8 billion in revenue in 2024.

Based in Shakopee, MN, Midwest Specialty Products is a distributor of countertop and surface materials, with a focus on products like HanStone quartz, quartzite, soapstone and porcelain slabs. The company supplies stone slabs across a six-state region.
“This transaction highlights our commitment to facilitating deals that create lasting value for both parties,” Generational Group CEO Ryan Binkley said in an April 15 news release. “At Generational Group, we are proud to have played a role in bringing together two organizations poised for continued success.”
