Mountainland Supply Company has acquired Northern Power Equipment — a Centerville, UT-based power, utility and electrical wholesale distributor.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Orem, UT-based Mountainland Supply said the acquisition expands its presence in the electrical utility market and strengthens its ability to serve contractors, municipalities and utility providers throughout the Intermountain West.
“We are excited to welcome Northern Power Equipment into our ESOP family at Mountainland Supply,” Mountainland Supply President and CEO Joey Liddle said in the announcement. “Their long history of putting the customer first is something that marries up with the goals of our ESOP perfectly.”
Founded in 1991, Northern Power Equipment specializes in high-voltage overhead and underground transmission and distribution. The company serves municipal, REA and commercial customers with products including wire, transformers, switchgear, poles, crossarms, pole line hardware, enclosures, connectors and underground equipment.
Mountainland Supply, founded in 1947, is an employee-owned distributor of waterworks, HVAC, plumbing, turf and agricultural irrigation, pump and drilling products, power equipment, tools and safety supplies. The company serves contractors, municipalities, institutions, mining, non-residential and residential end markets across the western and mid-western United States.
Mountainland Supply operates more than 50 brick-and-mortar locations and has more than 1,000 employee-owners.
