Capital Electric — the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast electrical supplies subsidiary of Sonepar — has opened a new central distribution center (CDC) in Charlotte, NC, expanding its distribution footprint and service capabilities across the Carolinas and southeastern Georgia.
The 258,000-square-foot facility is expected to add 100 jobs in Charlotte over the next six months and serves as part of Capital Electric’s broader expansion strategy in North and South Carolina. The company said the investment is intended to support growth in end markets including data centers and automotive manufacturing.
Located at 9320 Porters View Drive, the Charlotte CDC is designed to support industrial, commercial, residential and OEM customers through expanded inventory, faster fulfillment and enhanced logistics capabilities. The facility carries approximately 20,000 SKUs and about $30 million in inventory, enabling next-day delivery and pickup options for customers in the greater Charlotte area. Additional services include on-site wire cutting, an in-house panel-building shop and indoor pipe storage.
“The opening of our Charlotte CDC marks a significant milestone for Capital Electric and reflects a strategic investment in the future of our business,” Capital Electric President Brendan O’Hare said in a June 12 announcement. “It is a critical step in our growth strategy, expanding our footprint in the Carolinas and strengthening our distribution network to support larger projects, new markets and sustained long-term success.”
