Electrical supplies distributor QED, a Sonepar company, has opened its largest-ever central distribution center (CDC) in Aurora, CO, just outside Denver. The 250,000-square-foot facility represents a major company investment to boost service for residential and commercial contractor customers, industrial facilities and OEM businesses.
Sonepar said the CDC and another set to open in Mesa, AZ, in Q1 of 2026 support QED’s transition to a centralized logistics model that enables smoother operations and consolidated inventory — ultimately providing faster and more accurate order fulfillment. The facility features automated picking with robots from Locus Robotics and light automation.
The Aurora CDC is located at 21001 E 13th Ave, Suite 200, Aurora, CO 80018. It employs 110 associates and is managed by Joshua Jordan.
“At the heart of a great customer experience is speed, accuracy and reliability — and that’s exactly what a Centralized Distribution Center helps deliver,” QED President Scott Jansen said in a Nov. 6 news release. “With real-time inventory visibility, customer service teams can provide faster, more accurate answers to your questions, whether you’re checking on product availability or tracking a shipment. Smarter transportation routes and optimized delivery schedules will reduce customers’ wait times and ensure orders arrive when expected.”
In total, QED employs more than 500 associates across 19 branches acriss Arizona and Colorado. QED’s parent company Sonepar, achieved sales of $35.2 billion in 2024, slotting it at No. 2 on MDM’s Top Distributors for Electrical/Data/Security.
