Industrial and construction supplies distributor Fastenal announced it opened a new distribution center in Magna, UT.
The facility, which began operations on June 16, is equipped with automated systems for order retrieval, sorting and conveyance. It replaced a previous Fastenal distribution center in Salt Lake City.
The company held a grand opening for the DC on July 22, which included presentations by CEO Dan Florness and Board Chairman Scott Satterlee.
This is Fastenal’s 16th DC in North America and 13th in the U.S.

Construction of the nearly 300,000-square-foot facility was carried out primarily by local contractors, resulting in a multimillion-dollar investment in the area. Fastenal said the project supports the company’s plans to expand regional operations and increase local employment.
“By investing in new service capabilities, we’re investing in our customers, the community, and future careers,” Fastenal Regional Operations Manager Mike Humphries said in a July 9 news release. “We look forward to showcasing the new distribution center and sharing this milestone with our valued partners and team members.”
Fastenal reported its second quarter and June financial results on July 14, which MDM covered in-depth here.
