Electrical wire and cable manufacturer and distributor Southwire is set to gain significant logistics capabilities in the U.S. southwest via a sprawling new distribution center.

The Carrollton, GA-based company announced Feb. 5 that it has begun construction on a 1.2-million-square-foot facility in Bremen, GA — about 58 miles due west of downtown Atlanta.

It’s expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2026.

In a news release, Southwire said the state-of-the-art DC will create a centralized hub for the company’s distribution and shipping activities in the west Georgia region. The hub — dubbed Southwire’s “ATL Distribution Center” — will combine the operations within Southwire’s three existing distribution sites in Villa Rica, GA under one roof and serve as a DC for internal and external customers across the organization.

“This new distribution center is the next exciting step in both our continuous effort to improve our customer experience and our investment in modernization across the organization,” Southwire President and CEO Rich Stinson said. “The new facility will help Southwire continue to stand out as a leader in the industry, while serving as a reflection of our promise to provide our customers with world-class service.”

This past August, opened its Dallas-Fort Worth Customer Service Center — also spanning 1.2 million square feet.

“I am eager to share this news on the heels of the success of our newest distribution center in DFW,” added Aaron Asher, Southwire’s SVP of Customer Experience. “We are excited to bring this scale of operation to west Georgia, allowing for improvements in fill rates and on-time in-full deliveries for our customers.”
