Industrial supplies master distributor ORS Nasco has acquired welding supplies wholesalers Techniweld and PowerWeld, President and CEO Kevin Short announced in an Oct. 7 LinkedIn post.
The additions continue a string of acquisitions for Tulsa, OK-based ORS across welding, safety, industrial and JanSan products — marking ORS’ sixth and seven acquisitions over the past 20 months, according to Short.
The companies’ websites list Techniweld facilities in Oakville, Ontario, and Edmonton, Alberta, alongside PowerWeld facilities in Valparaiso, IN, and Grand Prairie, TX. Techniweld’s website features a similar assortment spanning welding machines, filler metals, gas and arc welding products, safety supplies and chemicals.
The Canadian Techniweld business is distinct from Atlanta-based Techniweld USA, which ORS acquired in May 2025. That earlier acquisition added a welding supplier and manufacturer with seven distribution centers and products for MIG, TIG, plasma, oxy-fuel and stick welding, along with safety and industrial supplies.
The latest announcement comes exactly two weeks after Short disclosed ORS’ acquisition of Essendant’s Boardwalk, GEN and Windsoft brands. Announced Sept. 23, that transaction added established private-label JanSan and foodservice offerings as Essendant wound down operations. Short said those brands would broaden ORS’ assortment and connect its industrial and JanSan offerings while maintaining its wholesale-only model.
ORS’ acquisition activity has accelerated since Wynnchurch Capital purchased the company from One Equity Partners in August 2024. Beyond Techniweld USA and the Essendant brands, ORS acquired safety products redistributor R3 Safety in February 2025 and added AD Member Supply and Alliance Distribution Partners in March 2026. Those March transactions represented its third and fourth acquisitions under Wynnchurch ownership.
