PVF an infrastructure products distributor MRC Global entered a partnership with Frisbie Measurement Services (FMS), forming IMTEC Services.

Cleveland, OH-based FMS offers gas measurement expertise through a team of metrology and engineering specialists.

IMTEC Services is a meter center that will combine meter and electronic reading capabilities, all while upholding high standards of quality and safety. MRC said IMTEC Services will offer customers reduced lead times, protect against market disruptions and deliver meters with precision.

“The smart meter development process has been cumbersome for utilities and manufacturers alike,” MRC President & CEP Rob Saltiel said in March 14 news release. “FMS understands the technical requirements for smart meters and automated meter readers and qualifies IMTEC as a diverse supplier to purchasing utilities. Based on feedback from our gas utility customers, we expect a strong reception.”

IMTEC Services will provide a complete meter supply chain and will operate from MRC’s La Porte, TX operations complex to serve customers across the U.S.

MRC reported its 2024 fourth quarter and full-year results on March 14, showing 4Q sales of $664 million, down 11.4% year-over-year and down from 3Q24’s $797 million. For its full-year, the company reported sales of $3.01 billion, down 8.4% year-over-year.
