Hello, MDM readers!

MDM is once again deep into researching financial figures and market data for our annual Top Distributors feature, which serves as the industry’s definitive snapshot of the biggest players across wholesale distribution product markets in industrial and commercial products, building supplies and beyond.

To put this major project together, we need your help. If we should consider your company for inclusion on our 2026 Top Distributors lists, we ask your company to complete our confidential survey to provide us with the information necessary to compile our rankings.

Quite simply, if you want your company to appear on our 2026 Top Distributor Lists, we need its info — most notably, its 2025 fiscal revenue figure. MDM requires confirmed revenue figures for any company on the list, and we can keep that figure strictly private upon request. 

We’re opening submissions a full month earlier than we did last year, and with that, we’ve also moved up the submission deadline for Top Distributors to March 31. So, if your company has been a Top Distributor in the past, help us out by providing that info sooner than later to avoid us pestering your team with emails and phone calls. Need an extension? Let us know before the deadline.

Our 2026 Top Distributors feature will display our rankings lists of the top North American-based distributors by their 2025 fiscal revenue within 20 product sectors:

• Building Materials/Construction
• HVACR
• Plumbing
• Industrial PVF
• Power Transmission/Bearings
• Fluid Power
• Hose/Hose Accessories
• Electronics
• Fasteners
• Gases/Welding
• Specialty Adhesives
• Safety
• JanSan
• Plastics
• Pharmaceuticals
• Food & Beverage
• Oil & Gas Products

The finished feature will be published in June, following a free webcast that serves as a first look at some of our lists and vital analysis. You can view MDM’s 2025 Top Distributors lists here, which includes a full explanation of our methodology.

We understand that there are plenty of distributors that don’t want their revenue figures shown publicly. That’s no problem. We just need it internally so we can rank your company appropriately. Distributors can note in our survey if we should not display that figure. We’ll just show “N/A” for revenue in those cases. For companies that simply are unable to share that figure, even privately, MDM will estimate its ranking position based on the best available industry resources and information.

Company revenue figures supplied or estimated by MDM are kept strictly confidential and used only to accurately rank distributors on our lists.

Who at these companies should submit this information? Typically, it’s key executives or someone in a marketing role who has been provided that info.

Note: Companies that operate primarily as master distributors aren’t eligible for Top Distributors inclusion.

Distributors that complete our survey are doing us a big favor, saving us from having to track down that needed information via emails, phone calls and tapping into industry resources. Overall, it saves us a ton of time.

Any company that ends up on our 2026 rankings can download an MDM 2026 Top Distributors badge and other marketing materials denoting that accolade, which they can use to promote in any manner they’d like.
