AIM MRO Holdings, LLC, a distributor of highly engineered consumable repair products based in Miamiville, OH, has acquired Advanced Air West Palm Beach, Inc. (AA Bushings), a provider of replacement bushings, sleeves and fasteners for landing gear applications in the aerospace and defense aftermarket. AIM MRO focuses primarily on the aerospace aftermarket.
“AA Bushings is a trailblazer in the landing gear consumables market with an innovative approach that combines the latest manufacturing technology with robust in-house production capabilities,” said Scott Wandtke, CEO of AIM MRO. “Through this acquisition, AIM MRO is continuing to execute on our strategic vision of creating a leading aerospace and defense consumables platform with sophisticated, high-value consumable products for on-wing assets and other critical aircraft systems.”
Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Jupiter, FL, AA Bushings manufactures landing gear overhaul bushings and related parts for a wide range of commercial and military aircraft. AA Bushings is led by General Manager Marty Hatcher who will remain with the business following the acquisition.
“AIM MRO is a well-respected supplier of repair products to the aerospace aftermarket, and we are pleased to be part of the next chapter of their evolution,” said Hatcher. “We see a tremendous opportunity for AA Bushings to leverage AIM MRO’s global footprint to bolster our business and are excited to join forces to accelerate our growth under their umbrella.”
AA Bushings represents AIM MRO’s fourth add-on acquisition. It follows two acquisitions across engineered surface coatings solutions and the purchase of Gerard Poly Mouldings, a specialist in the design and manufacturing of masking products for aerospace and gas turbine engines. AIM MRO is a portfolio company of AE Industrial Partners, LP, a private investment firm specializing in national security, aerospace and industrial services markets.
“This transaction will expand AIM MRO’s highly engineered consumable products portfolio and provide the company with exposure to a new market segment through its landing gear capabilities,” said Bryan McElwee, Partner at AE Industrial Partners. “We see considerable runway for cross-selling opportunities between the two organizations, while AIM MRO will benefit from an entirely new product category to support: landing gear.”
