Insulation Distributors Inc. (IDI) announced July 1 that it has acquired MCC Equipment & Service Center — a Plainfield, IN-based distributor of spray foam and polyurea equipment, materials and accessories.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The deal gives Chanhassen, MN-based IDI a specialized spray foam and polyurea distributor with more than two decades of experience serving contractors across the Midwest. MCC provides equipment sales and repair, custom mobile rig design and construction, foam, coatings, accessories, PPE and contractor training. The company has also been an authorized Graco Top 20 Distributor for 14 consecutive years.

The announcement came one day after IDI said it acquired Design North Supply — a Billings, MT-based distributor of spray foam, polyurea, coatings and spray foam equipment that also has a location in Anchorage, AK. That deal expanded IDI’s presence across Montana, Alaska and the broader Northwest.

IDI said MCC’s team, location and day-to-day service model will remain in place, while MCC customers gain access to IDI’s broader portfolio of insulation products and accessories, including fiberglass, mineral wool, cellulose and other product lines.

MCC was founded by Jay Hutchek in the early 2000s and is based at 2705 East Main Street in Plainfield. The company specializes in spray foam and polyurea equipment, materials and accessories for professional contractors.

Founded in 1979, IDI is a family-owned national distributor of insulation materials, equipment and accessories that serves insulation contractors across the U.S. The company said the MCC acquisition reflects its continued investment in the long-term strength of the insulation and spray foam market.
