On June 3, Fortune unveiled its annual Fortune 500 List for 2026, and it included plenty of companies that decorate our MDM’s 2026 Top Distributors Lists (coming soon!).
Together, the companies on the list — which actually numbers out to 1,000 — combined for $21 trillion in 2025 fiscal revenue and $2.1 trillion in profits, while employing 30.5 million globally.
The 72nd edition of the Fortune 500 was highlighted by a new king of the revenue mountain, with eCommerce giant Amazon dethroning Walmart for the top spot after the latter had held that position for 13 consecutive years.
UnitedHealth and Apple repeated in third and fourth, while Google parent company Alphabet moved up two spots to No. 5.
Here’s the top 10:
Amazon — $716.9 billion
Walmart — $713.2 billion
UnitedHealth Group — $447.6 billion
Apple — $416.2 billion
Alphabet — $402.8 billion
CVS Health — $402.1 billion
Berkshire Hathaway — $371.4 billion
McKesson — $359.1 billion
Exxon Mobil — $332.2 billion
Cencora — $321.3 billion
McKesson and Cencora have long been the top distributors on the Fortune 500, and the two healthcare product suppliers both remain in the top 10 this year.
Before diving into which other wholesale distributors made the list, here’s a few additional stats about the aggregate Fortune 500 for 2026:
The 1,000 companies represent $55 trillion in market value — up 19% vs. 2024 and account for approximately two-thirds of U.S. GDP
The top four most profitable companies — Alphabet, Nvidia, Apple and Meta) combined to account for 22% of total Fortune 500 earnings
A record 56 women CEOs lead Fortune 500 companies this year, accounting for 11.2% of the list
Distributors on the 2026 Fortune 500
Below is a list of the 37 B2B wholesale distributors featured in the 2026 Fortune 500, ranked by 2025 fiscal revenue. The list also highlights year-over-year changes in revenue and each company’s ranking within the industry Fortune slotted it for. There are certainly plenty of other Fortune 500 companies that have a distribution component, but here, we’re only including those companies that act primarily as a B2B distributor.
Since this list reflects companies that more or less stand alone as distributors of physical products, it’s worth noting distributors whose parent company appears on the Fortune 500. This includes The Home Depot (No. 25), which owns building materials supplier SRS Distribution (which owns GMS); Lowe’s (No. 52), which owns Foundation Building Materials; Resideo (No. 500), which owns ADI Global Distribution (soon to divest into a standalone company)
Though not categorized as distributors, it’s worth noting that The Home Depot and Lowe’s — which have a considerable distribution component of their business that sell into the same contractor markets that distributors do — checked in at Nos. 24 and 52, respectively with revenue of $159.5 billion and $83.7 billion. Home Depot’s pro component is represented on several of MDM’s Top Distributors Lists.
