Fluid power and electrical controls distributor J.M. Grimstad Inc., based in Muskego, WI, has acquired Pewaukee, WI-based GT Hydraulic Specialists, a hydraulic service provider with a strong presence in the Great Lakes marine and industrial markets.

Terms were not disclosed.

Grimstad said it believes the acquisition will strengthen its ability to deliver complete lifecycle solutions by combining GT Hydraulic Specialists’ field service, installation and maintenance expertise with Grimstad’s engineering, integration and manufacturing capabilities. It also builds on the foundation established when the employee-owned company acquired Galland Henning earlier this year, further expanding Grimstad’s reach across multiple industries.

With GT Hydraulic Specialists joining the Grimstad family, customers will benefit from a fully integrated offering of services. Customers will gain access to Grimstad’s engineering and controls expertise, warehousing, hose and manifold shops, and extensive inventory resources — ensuring faster service, enhanced project support and advanced replacement system design. GT Hydraulic Specialists also brings ownership of the Collomatic winch line — a specialized winch used on Great Lakes ships — for which Grimstad can now offer both new units and rebuild services, adding unique value for regional maritime customers.

A Nov. 10 news release added that Grimstad and Galland Henning customers will now enjoy expanded on-site installation, repair and preventative maintenance services. Together, the companies provide a single-source partner offering design, build and field support solutions for marine, industrial and manufacturing applications.
