Atlanta, GA-based building materials distributor US LBM has acquired Builders Supply Company, headquartered in Lancaster, SC.

Serving the greater Charlotte, NC market since 1908, Builders Supply Company offers lumber and millwork products ranging from framing material and engineered wood to window and door distribution and install services. Greg Gregory, Builders Supply Company President, will continue to run day-to-day operations.

“There is a clear strategic need to serve the national production builder segment in the Charlotte market,” US LBM Southeast Regional VP John Merritt said in a May 13 news release. “Bringing Builders Supply Company into our network strengthens our ability to support these customers with both full‑line product distribution and turnkey specialty solutions.”

“Builders Supply Company has been in my family for four generations,” Gregory said. “Joining the US LBM family of companies allows us to continue delivering the quality and service our customers have trusted for decades.”

This is the second acquisition announced by US LBM in 2026. The company has approximately 450 locations across the U.S., powered by 14,000 employees.

“Production builder activity continues to grow south and west of Charlotte, and Builders Supply Company’s location provides a strong position to serve that demand,” US LBM President and CEO L.T. Gibson added. “It also creates an opportunity to extend our reach into Columbia, S.C. — a key white space market for US LBM.”
