OmniCable has acquired fellow electrical wire and cable distributor Kingwire, adding significant warehouse capacity and expanding its offerings in aluminum products, distributor stock programs and high-growth electrical end markets.
West Chester, PA-based OmniCable announced Aug. 27 that it completed the acquisition from private equity firm Kinderhook Industries. Financial terms were not disclosed. Each company will retain its existing brand and locations.
The acquisition complements OmniCable’s core special-order business by strengthening its distributor stock program capabilities and aluminum offering while providing entry into the utility channel, OmniCable CEO Chris Breslin said.
“Together, OmniCable and Kingwire will provide electrical distributors with broader product availability, expanded warehouse reach, deeper aluminum wire expertise, and enhanced support across stock, project, and specialty wire and cable needs,” Breslin said.
OmniCable is a Dot Family Holdings company and one of North America’s largest master distributors of wire, cable, fiber and other electrical and communications products, selling exclusively through distribution. The company has approximately $400 million in inventory across 18 North American distribution locations.
The Kingwire deal continues a broader expansion of OmniCable’s market coverage during 2026. Since February, the company has announced six new or expanded agreements with electrical manufacturers’ representative agencies.
Those moves included expanded agreements with Lester Sales across portions of the Midwest and DSI Southwest across Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma, along with a new partnership with Kunz Powell and Associates covering portions of the Mid-Atlantic.
OmniCable followed in May with new agreements with Rowe Sales for Northern New Jersey and New York City and Electrical Lines for six western states, before adding Blue Sky Reps in Oregon in June. The partnerships were positioned as investments in stronger local sales coverage and distributor support across those markets.
