Canadian-based replacement parts and automotive services distributor UAP Inc. — a subsidiary of Genuine Parts Company — announced the proposed acquisition of Benson Group Inc.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Based in Cornwall, Ontario, Benson is a regional distributor of automotive and heavy-duty parts. With around 85 locations throughout Ontario and Quebec, the company provides a wide range of replacement auto parts and accessories, including tires, covers, shocks, wipers, coils, bearings, belts, mirror covers and more.
Established nearly 100 years ago, UAP is a distributor and retailer of automotive parts and replacement accessories for both cars and heavy vehicles. The company operates a network of retail locations, distribution centers and training facilities.

“This proposed acquisition aligns perfectly with UAP’s strategy to strengthen our leadership position in Canada’s automotive parts industry,” UAP President Alain Masse said in a March 6 news release. “Benson shares our core values, including a strong commitment to customer service, reliability, and community support. We remain dedicated to maintaining high service standards for customers throughout this process.”
UAP said the partnership will broaden its network and improve its capacity to provide services and solutions to customers throughout Canada. The acquisition is anticipated to be finalized by May 2025.
