West Chester, PA-based fastener distributor Lubker Distribution acquired certain assets of Fastening Products of Lancaster.
Originally founded as Welk Industrial Products Company in 1971 by Robert Welk before a name-change in 1974, Lancaster, PA-based Fastening Products of Lancaster has been a “long-standing and trusted supplier” to OEM’s and fabrication companies selling standard and specialty fasteners, and providing kitting services.
Lubker Distribution distributes fasteners, assemblies and related Class-C components to industrial Original Equipment Manufacturers worldwide. The company provides over 100,000 SKUs and operates primarily through a Vendor Managed Inventory model, managing C-part categories for its customers across diverse industrial end-use markets.
The transition will include relocation of Fastening Products of Lancaster into the Lubker Distribution headquarter facility located in West Chester, PA.
Company History
In 1985, Robert’s son Curt joined the business, and within a year took over operational leadership. Curt ran the business until his unexpected passing in 2018. Curt’s wife Mary has been running the business since that time, and son Adam has day-to-day managerial responsibilities.
With the acquisition, Mary Welk will retire, and Adam Welk — along with Jim Holland (inside sales) — will assist with the transition, remaining a liaison between between previous Fastening Products of Lancaster customers, suppliers and Lubker Distribution.
