Canadian-based independent gas distributor Core Industrial Gases Inc. acquired Cobourg Welding Supply, effective April 7.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Based in its namesake Cobourg, Ontario, Cobourg Welding Supply is a Canadian distributor providing industrial, safety and welding equipment, as well as gases, to manufacturers throughout eastern Ontario. The company specializes in sourcing welding materials from across North America and also supplies beer and balloon gases for the entertainment industry.

Vancouver-based Core said that during the transition, customers can expect no disruption to service, daily operations will carry on without interruption, while the same team will remain in place at the Cobourg location. With the addition of Core’s resources, customers will gain access to expanded equipment repair services, online account tools and a wider selection of industrial gases and welding products.

Core added that the partnership unites Cobourg’s local expertise with its own technical support, while also expanding Core’s presence in Eastern Ontario.
