Beverage alcohol distributor Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits opened a distribution center in Geismar, LA.
The new 375,000-square-foot facility is built to support Southern Glazer’s long-term growth in the region, serving as a hub in Louisiana with the capacity to scale over the next 30 years. The company said the DC’s advanced technology enables more efficient order fulfillment, resulting in faster deliveries, improved service and increased product availability.

According to a May 13 news release, the Geismar facility features advanced technologies and sustainability initiatives, including:
- An upgraded conveyor system with a palletizer to enhance material handling and order processing
- Energy-efficient climate control to optimize storage conditions while minimizing energy use
- LED lighting throughout the facility for improved visibility and reduced environmental impact
- A partnership with Dematic to implement advanced material handling systems with built-in scalability for future growth

“This facility represents a pivotal investment in the future of our Louisiana operations,” Southern Glazer’s VP of Operations Jason Witty said in the news release. “By increasing capacity and optimizing technology, we are strengthening our ability to serve customers with greater efficiency, ensuring they have access to the products they need when they need them.”
