Shipping, industrial and packaging materials distributor Uline announced it will open a 1.2 million-square-foot warehouse center in Plainfield, CT, in 2026.
Uline officials told the Hartford Courant that the distribution center — expected to open its doors in July 2026 and be fully operational by November 2026 — will fulfill orders of more than 40,000 packaging, shipping and safety products to customers across New England with a fleet of 80 trucks.
It will be the company’s 15th location.
“Our expansion into Connecticut, driven by steady growth since 1980 and a continued commitment to customer service, marks a major milestone for Uline,” Gil De Las Alas, Uline’s Chief Human Resources Officer, said in a statement to the Courant. “After touring several potential sites across New England, Plainfield stood out for its ability to accommodate plans for our 1.3 million-square-foot facility and for its quality workforce.”
The company purchased the land in August 2023, and beat out other contending locations in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, according to the Courant report citing the Plainfield First Selectman Kevin Cunningham.
Uline — ranked No. 1 on MDM’s Top Distributors JanSan and Packaging List — is also set to open a new 286,000-square-foot distribution center in Reno, NV in August.
