Elizabethtown, NC-based Campbell Oil Company announced Jan. 29 that it has acquired assets of the gasoline and fuel division of Smith Oil Company — a longstanding, family-owned fuel supplier in Salemburg, NC.
The addition expands Campbell’s fuel services further across Sampson County and the greater Southeastern North Carolina, with a larger portfolio of fuel, propane and service solutions to residential, agricultural and commercial customers.
Campbell said Smith Oil Owners Billy Smith and Helen Smith will remain actively involved during the transition.
“Smith Oil Company has built a reputation for reliability, craftsmanship and customer-first service,” said Tracy Hardin, Vice President of Short Truck Operations for Campbell Oil Company. “We are honored to continue that legacy while expanding service capabilities and long-term support for customers in Sampson County.”
Campbell added that it is actively pursuing strategic acquisitions with established fuel and energy providers.
