National metals service center Olympic Steel Inc. opened a new facility in Houston, TX to support operations for its Action Stainless business.

Based in Carrollton, TX, Action Stainless is a distributor of stainless steel, aluminum and alloy products, offering a range of fabrication services like welding, cutting and machining. Led by Jessica Burroughs, Vice President, the company operates facilities in Dallas, TX; Kansas City, MO; Rock Hill, SC; and Houston.

Founded in 1954, Olympic Steel is a U.S. metals service center specializing in the sale and processing of carbon, coated and stainless steel products, including aluminum, pipe, tube, bar and various metal products. Based in Cleveland, OH, the company operates 54 facilities.

The new 105,000-square-foot facility will expand Action Stainless’ Houston operations by 73,000-square-feet, enabling further growth of its fabrication capabilities. The location will be run by General Manager Jeff Lyons. The facility is located at:

“The relocation of our Houston operation represents the next step in our strategic growth plan for Action Stainless and our entire specialty metals business segment,” Olympic Steel President of Specialty Metals Andy Markowitz said in a March 31 new release. “Action Stainless already has a great reputation as a single source for multiple items on a bill of material. As part of our continued growth, we’ve expanded further downstream to better support our customers’ complex value-added and precision fabrication needs.”
