AmerisourceBergen Completes Two Acquisitions

Acquisitions of IntrinsiQ and Premier Source expand AmerisourceBergen's capabilities in oncology informatics and consulting services.

AmerisourceBergen Corp. (NYSE: ABC), Valley Forge, PA, announced the completion of two acquisitions: IntrinsiQ, LLC, Burlington, MA, and Premier Source, San Mateo, CA.

IntrinsiQ, a provider of informatics solutions that help community oncologists make treatment decisions for their patients, will become part of ION Solutions, a unit of AmerisourceBergen Specialty Group. The pharmaceutical services company purchase IntrinsiQ for $35 million.

\”The oncology specialty market has grown incredibly complex, as doctors have more therapeutic options and face mounting pressure to run the safest, most efficient practice possible,\” said Jeff Forringer, CEO of IntrinsiQ. \”For more than a decade, we’ve assisted practices in achieving high clinical benchmarks. By joining ION Solutions, we can provide customers with even more insight, expertise and solutions that help improve oncology care.\”

Premier Source, a privately held company, provides consulting and reimbursement services to medical device, pharmaceutical, molecular diagnostic, and biotechnology manufacturers, as well as other health services companies. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

\”With our broad range of market access programs, the acquisition of Premier Source provides ABCS with strategically expanded capabilities to help our business partners positively impact patients’ lives,\” said Peyton Howell, president of AmerisourceBergen Consulting Services and senior vice president, business development of AmerisourceBergen.

Sinead Foley, president of Premier Source, will continue in that role.
