Apache Buys Trico Belting & Supply

Acquisition combines Apaches proficiencies in heavy-duty belting with Trico's capabilities in light-duty belting.

Apache Inc., Cedar Rapids, IA, has acquired Trico Belting & Supply Co. Trico Belting & Supply is a supplier of light-duty conveyor belting in North America with locations in Cincinnati, OH and Chicago, IL. The acquisition combines Apache’s proficiency in heavy-duty belting with Trico's light-duty belting capabilities. This is Apache's fifth acquisition in five years.

Apache fabricates and distributes hose products, fabricated belting products, cut and molded products and industrial consumer products. Apache made a strategic business model change in September, moving away from selling directly to end users. Apache will now concentrate its sales efforts on distributors, dealers and OEM customers.

Trico Belting & Supply fabricates light-duty belting products used in package handling, food handling, specialty belting and power transmission, sold via industrial distribution and OEM channels. John Shafer, Trico president, will stay on after the transaction.
