Bunzl-owned PPE products maker MRC Safety has acquired Guantes Internacionales — a safety gloves manufacturer based just outside of Toluca, Mexico, about 30 miles west of Mexico City.
Terms were not disclosed.
Guantes Internacionales specializes in making gloves across categories of cut-resistant coated, general purpose coated, high performance fibre, knitted and chemical protection, along with knitted sleeves.
Founded in 1986, Guantes Internacionales consolidated its product portfolio and commercial team in 2022, and noted that 2024 was its best year ever for growth.
“I want to be very clear: this is far from a farewell — this acquisition is a new beginning,” Guantes Internacionales’s marketing and exports director said in a Aug. 28 letter to customers. “We arrive with renewed commitment, recharged energy, and the firm conviction that the best is yet to come.”
Memphis, TN-based MCR Safety has a PPE portfolio of over 5,000 SKUs led by gloves, safety glasses, goggles, face shields, apparel, welding gear, chemical protection and fire-resistant clothing. Formed in 2004, the company was acquired by London-based packaging and safety products distributor Bunzl in 2020.
