Houston-based lubricants distributor RelaDyne has expanded its Latin American footprint with the acquisition of OilRed — a Chevron lubricants distributor based in Medellín, Colombia.
Announced Aug. 25, the deal establishes a RelaDyne operating presence in Colombia and extends the geographic reach of Grupo Lucalza, its Latin American division.
Founded in 2014, OilRed distributes lubricants, greases and coolants while providing value-added lubrication programs to automotive, commercial and industrial customers across authorized territories in Colombia. The company operates multiple distribution locations and provides technical support aimed at equipment performance and operational reliability.
OilRed’s existing management team will remain in place to lead day-to-day operations. RelaDyne said the business will work with Grupo Lucalza to expand service coverage and pursue additional growth opportunities in Colombia.
“This acquisition provides an outstanding platform for continued growth, combining deep local market knowledge with a talented management team,” RelaDyne CEO Eric Royse said in announcing the deal.
Grupo Lucalza distributes lubricants, fuels, filters, batteries and tires to automotive, commercial and industrial markets. Its geographic footprint now spans Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic and Colombia.
The OilRed acquisition is RelaDyne’s second announced deal of 2026. On June 25, the company acquired St. Louis-based Chart Distribution Group, a regional distributor of lubricants, detailing products and ancillary automotive solutions serving customers across eastern Missouri and central Illinois.
RelaDyne has also made recent additions to its leadership ranks. On Aug. 24, the company announced that Michael Sheehan joined RelaDyne to lead its Inside Sales and Sales Support teams within the Commercial department. The company said Sheehan will support collaboration and sales growth across the organization.
In July, RelaDyne appointed Leigh Dobbs as Chief Human Resources Officer, effective July 13. Dobbs joined the company after most recently serving as CHRO of Gypsum Management & Supply, where she helped guide the HR function through GMS’ acquisition and integration into SRS Distribution and The Home Depot.
Founded in 2010, RelaDyne has grown to more than 190 locations through acquisitions and serves industrial, commercial and automotive customers with lubricants, fuel, diesel exhaust fluid and industrial reliability services.
