Electrical connectors and interconnector systems manufacturer Amphenol Corp. will acquire Trexon from Audax Private Equity for approximately $1 billion in cash.
Trexon provides high-reliability interconnect and cable assemblies, primarily for the defense sector. The company is headquartered in Boston, MA, with operations in the U.S. and the U.K. It is projected to generate approximately $290 million in sales and a 26% EBITDA margin in 2025.

With 1,100 employees worldwide, Trexon develops custom-engineered interconnect products such as specialty cables, cable assemblies and connectors for defense, space and other specialized markets. The company supplies technical and engineering solutions to major customers requiring high-reliability, application-specific components.
Amphenol designs, manufactures and markets electrical, electronic and fiber optic connectors, interconnect systems, antennas, sensors and coaxial and high-speed specialty cables. The company operates in roughly 40 countries and distributes products through a global sales force, independent representatives and distributors.

“Trexon’s unique portfolio of high-reliability cable assembly products will be highly complementary to our existing offerings in the defense market,” Amphenol President and CEO R. Adam Norwitt said in an Aug. 18 news release. “We look forward to working in partnership with Trexon’s experienced management team to deliver additional high-technology solutions to our customers post closing.”
Trexon CEO Mark Twaalfhoven added: “This sale marks the culmination of significant growth and transformation for Trexon under Audax, including investments in our team and facilities, strategic efforts to focus on our core competencies, and the expansion of our product and capability set organically and through acquisition.”

The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and standard closing conditions. Amphenol plans to fund the transaction with existing cash and expects to complete it in the fourth quarter of 2025. The business will be integrated into Amphenol’s Harsh Environment Solutions segment and is expected to contribute to earnings per share within the first year.
