Puyallup, WA-based doors and door products distributor Trimlite has acquired Kentucky Wholesale Building Products, marking its third acquisition of 2026.

Announced Sept. 1, the deal adds a wholesale distributor of residential doors, windows and related building products serving customers across the Mid-South and Central U.S. Kentucky Wholesale was a wholly owned subsidiary of Clay-Ingels LLC. Financial terms were not announced.

Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Lexington, KY, Kentucky Wholesale serves independent and national pro dealers through locations in Lexington and Indianapolis.

Its product portfolio includes interior and exterior doors, windows, moldings, jambs, casings and related building products. The distributor also provides door-hanging and other value-added services.

Trimlite CEO Patrick Hooper said Kentucky Wholesale has built a strong presence in its markets while emphasizing product quality and customer service.

“We are excited to welcome them to Trimlite and work together to carry that legacy forward,” Hooper said.

Kentucky Wholesale President Tim Hicks added that the combination brings together a broader product offering, established customer relationships and expanded distribution capabilities.

Founded in 1982, Trimlite is a value-added distributor of residential doors and related products across North America. Its offerings include interior and exterior door slabs, prehung doors, door glass, doorlites and related products sold through wholesale distributors, dealers and OEM customers.

The company has been owned by private equity firm Wynnchurch Capital since July 2021. Kentucky Wholesale represents Trimlite’s fifth acquisition since Wynnchurch acquired the company and continues a recent acceleration of its M&A activity.

Trimlite most recently acquired Theodore, AL-based Barnett Millworks in a deal announced in late July. Barnett distributes residential doors, millwork and related products across the Southeast and Gulf Coast. That followed Trimlite’s March acquisition of Harris Door & Millwork, a Pendergrass, GA-based distributor serving national and independent pro dealers across the Southeast.
