Building materials distributor Kodiak Building Partners announced the establishment of a greenfield expansion company, Ponderosa Building Supply, in Hauser, ID.

Ponderosa Building Supply will serve residential and commercial builders, contractors and homeowners across Idaho with premium lumber and building materials, while increasing supply availability and adding hubs to the market.

To support this expansion, Kodiak BP has appointed Kevin Prosser as area VP for LBM Idaho and Wyoming, and Tim Borg as general manager of Ponderosa Building Supply.

Prosser will lead operations and strategy in Idaho and Wyoming, bringing extensive experience from his previous position at US LBM, where he managed multiple branches in Wisconsin and gained expertise in sales, operations, millwork and logistics.

Borg will oversee Ponderosa Building Supply’s launch and leadership. With over 40 years in the industry, he most recently served as general manager at Builders FirstSource.

“The construction industry is growing in the Northwest, including northern Idaho and Wyoming,” Kodiak BP CEO Steve Swinney said in a March 25 news release. “The state of the market, coupled with the region’s position as one of the top producers of timber in the U.S., makes this an opportune time to invest in a new venture like Ponderosa Building Supply. Kodiak BP’s most recent previous acquisition was of Minnesota-based Kendall Lumber, announced Jan. 14.
