National Lumber Company, a Baltimore-based, family-owned building material supplier, acquired Fisher Lumber in Rockville, MD. The move expands National Lumber’s footprint in the Washington, DC metro area.
Founded in 1919, National Lumber has served builders, remodelers and contractors across Baltimore, Washington DC and beyond for over a century. Following the acquisition, National will continue to serve Fisher Lumber’s customers throughout the DC metro region, bringing expanded resources, delivery capabilities and product access.
Fisher Lumber also has historic roots, operating since 1894 and under the same ownership since 1947. The company offers deck supplies and design services, contractor tools, accessories, hardware and decorative items for builders and remodelers.
“This acquisition is about more than growth — it’s about preserving the tradition of family-owned service in our industry,” said Kevin Fruman, Co-Owner of National Lumber Co-Owner Kevin Fruman said in a Sept. 18 news release. “We’re proud to welcome Fisher’s team into the National family and excited to begin serving their customers.”
“National Lumber has been built over five generations on relationships, reliability and resilience,” added Neal Fruman, Co-Owner of National Lumber. “Acquiring Fisher allows us to expand our reach while staying true to what makes us different: independence, personal service and deep local roots.”
Following the acquisition, Fisher Lumber will be renamed National Lumber.
The transaction is expected to close Oct. 1, with National Lumber opening for business immediately.
