Electrical, industrial and automation products distributor Graybar is planning to significantly increase its U.S. warehouse capacity in high-growth metropolitan over the next year.

The St. Louis-based company announced Sept. 4 that it is introducing “Storage, Transportation and Readiness” (STAR) distribution centers in Reno, Dallas and Atlanta over the next few quarters, with those facilities spanning a combined 500,000 square feet.

These STAR Centers are described as project-focused facilities designed to serve the specialized needs of contractors working on large, complex construction projects, bringing critical materials closer to job sites and enhancing Graybar’s ability to deploy services and customized delivery options.

The company plans to add additional STAR Centers, expanding its total facility footprint to over 16 million square feet.

“Graybar’s STAR Centers will provide the capacity and flexibility to deliver customized supply chain solutions for large construction projects such as data centers, manufacturing plants, healthcare facilities and utility infrastructure,” Graybar Chairman, President and CEO Kathy Mazzarella said in a news release.

The company detailed that these STAR Centers are part of the company’s unified service platform that integrates local, regional and national DCs.

“As we transform our business for the future, we are reimagining what’s possible across our nationwide footprint,” Mazzarella added. “The STAR Center program is one example of Graybar’s investments in leading-edge technology and adaptable solutions to support our customers’ growth. We remain focused on broadening our reach, expanding our capabilities and transforming our logistics network to create an unparalleled customer experience.”

On MDM’s 2025 Top Distributors Lists, Graybar was No. 4 for electrical products and No. 14 for industrial supplies.
