Baldwin Supply, a Midwest distributor of power transmission, conveyor belt and other industrial supplies, acquired Construction & Aggregate Products (CAP), effective Dec. 29.
Plymouth, MN-based Baldwin Supply is a privately held company with expertise across food and beverage, manufacturing, aggregate, agriculture, packaging and material handling.
CAP, with locations in Des Moines, IA and Lenexa, KS, is a distributor of critical parts to several industries, including aggregate, mining and construction.
The acquisition will expand Baldwin Supply’s ability to serve customers in the OEM and MRO space, company officials said in a Dec. 31 news release.
“CAP has an excellent reputation and a great team in place. Our values are aligned and we see a lot of potential in continuing to invest in the state of Iowa,” Baldwin President Rob LaRue said. “We’re excited to move forward together, combining the resources of the two leading independent distributors in the area. This is truly a win for both organizations, our employees and our customers.”
CAP President Dana Raley added: “Construction & Aggregate Products has always been built around strong relationships with our customers and our employees. Joining Baldwin Supply allows us to preserve what makes CAP special while gaining the scale, resources, and opportunities of a larger organization. I’m confident this move positions our customers for continued success and opens new doors for our team members.”
Baldwin Supply has previously invested in strategic opportunities to grow capabilities, including conveyer belt production facilities in Fridley, MN, Appleton, WI, and Sioux Falls, SD, along with its service teams.
