Just before exhibiting at the International Fastener Expo in Las Vegas Sept. 15-18, fastener manufacturer and distributor Optimas Solutions launched its QuickShip program that alleviates inventory shortages and stock-outs for OEMs and distributors.
Launched from Optimas’ manufacturing facility at its Wood Dale, IL headquarters, the program offers a lead time of one to four weeks to produce externally threaded fasteners from a print, with dimensions of 2mm to 20mm in diameter and 5 mm to 220mm in length. Through nearby partnerships, Optimas also provides secondary heat treat, patching, plating and coating to complete a part.
Optimas Solutions Promotes Chief of Staff to COO
Optimas said this program cuts traditional lead times of 8 to 16 weeks to just one to four weeks, providing a rapid response solution in a time when the tariff landscape and demand fluctuations challenge manufacturers and distributors’ inventory operations. The end-to-end program deploys Optimas’ in-house engineering, tooling, colt heading, threading and local secondary processing.
“Manufacturers can’t afford anxiety or downtime due to part shortages,” Optimas Americas CEO Daniel Harms said in a Sept. 13 news release. “The QuickShip program is designed to provide a seamless, high-speed solution for critical inventory needs — ensuring production meets demand in an unpredictable market.”
Optimas Solutions Adds Multi-Sourcing Functionality
Optimas provided the following rundown of the QuickShip program’s key benefits:
- Shorter Lead Times – From industry-standard 8-16 weeks to just 1-4 weeks for externally threaded fasteners with a print spec
- Precision Manufacturing – High-quality, cold-form fasteners from a single supplier
- Product Range – Externally threaded fasteners from 2mm to 20mm in diameter and 5mm to 220mm in length
- Characteristics – 40+ thread styles, 6 licensed drive styles, 15-point configurations, including metric and imperial sizes
- Secondary Process – Long-term, local partners provide heat treat, patching, plating and coating to complete a part
- Certified Quality – IATF and ISO certifications
“The Optimas QuickShip program was developed by manufacturers for manufacturers. Optimas offers an onshore, agile and cost-effective solution that ensures part availability when inventory doesn’t meet demand and replenishment time is short,” added Chris Martens, Optimas Americas VP of Manufacturing. “This program ensures that manufacturers can quickly access high-quality, engineered parts to keep operations running smoothly.”
On MDM’s 2025 Top Distributors Lists, Optimas was No. 8 for Fasteners and No. 32 for Industrial Supplies. The company had $635 million in 2024 revenue.
