Following its sale from one private equity firm to another this past February, Building Controls & Solutions announced key changes to its executive leadership team on July 17.
Christopher Wenaas was promoted to Chief Operating Officer and will oversee U.S. branch operations, sales and technical solutions teams, with responsibilities including sales execution, margin performance and operational alignment across BCS’s 15 U.S. branch locations.

Galen Riddle was appointed Chief Financial Officer at BCS. He brings more than 20 years of experience in financial leadership roles within distribution, manufacturing and private equity-backed companies. Prior to joining BCS, he served as VP of Finance at Hydradyne, where he played a role in the company’s acquisition. In his new role, Riddle will be responsible for financial strategy, performance reporting and EBITDA initiatives across BCS operations in the U.S. and Canada.

John Strawn joined BCS earlier this year as Chief Marketing & Technology Officer, overseeing the company’s omni-channel strategy, digital development and customer experience initiatives. He brings experience from previous leadership roles at Kele, ABB and FedEx, with a focus on digital solutions and customer engagement.
The new executive leadership team will work alongside CEO Erik Chernik.
“Our leadership team is aligned around a bold vision for scalable growth, operational excellence and an unwavering commitment to our customers and vendor partners,” Chernik said in a news release. “These moves strengthen our ability to deliver value, stay nimble, and grow alongside our partners.”
BCS has made four acquisitions since its founding in 2019, including its most recent one of Charlotte, NC-based Control Stop, announced on Jan. 22.
