Business supplies distributor and 3PL services provider Essendant has partnered with UPS-owned Roadie to enhance its supply chain efficiency and local delivery capabilities.
Based in Atlanta, GA, Roadie is a logistics management and crowd-sourced delivery platform that provides last-mile delivery services. It serves a range of industries including airlines, eCommerce, home improvement, retail, auto parts, grocery and prescriptions. The platform’s RoadieXD solution connects businesses with local drivers to deliver products from distribution hubs to customers.
According to a June 12 news release, Roadie will use Essendant’s sorting and distribution network to expand delivery coverage, reach more customers and improve speed and efficiency.

“Through this collaboration, we’re enhancing our network to support Roadie’s use of our sorting and distribution infrastructure, enabling them to offer greater coverage and faster deliveries across the country,” Essendant SVP of Supply Chain Tim Engstrom said the news release.
Essendant added that the partnership also involves a joint initiative to optimize supply chain logistics, cut carbon emissions and implement more sustainable delivery methods by leveraging local drivers in real-time.
