Netherlands-based lighting manufacturer Signify announced plans to acquire fellow lighting manufacturer Nemalux, which is focused on producing hazardous location LED fixtures. Nemalux will join the Peachtree, GA-based Cooper Lighting Solutions business unit of Signify, while maintaining its manufacturing base and headquarters in Canada.

Founded in Calgary in 2003, Nemalux has built a portfolio of high-specification LED lighting solutions, certified for use in some of the most demanding industrial applications, including oil and gas, chemical processing, manufacturing and other hazardous environments. This acquisition will enhance Cooper Lighting Solutions’ industrial lighting portfolio, enabling it to better serve customers with comprehensive solutions in these important industries.
“We are thrilled that Nemalux is joining Signify. With its demonstrated success, established reputation and consistent high performance, we will be adding a very talented team and a highly competitive offering to drive harsh and hazardous lighting growth in the attractive North American market,” said Kraig Kasler, President of Cooper Lighting Solutions.
The acquisition is expected to close by the fourth quarter of 2025, subject to certain conditions.
