Berlin Packaging announced a pair of acquisitions between June 10-11, adding New Jersey-based O. Berk Company and U.K.-based BlueSky.
Chicago-based Berlin — a hybrid packaging supplier of glass, plastic and metal packaging and closures — said the O. Berk acquisition expands its presence in key pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, beauty and personal care end markets.
O. Berk serves beauty, personal care, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, household, food, beverage and other end markets. The company also operates BottleStore.com, an e-commerce platform that supports small businesses, entrepreneurs and emerging brands with packaging products.
O. Berk’s value-added services include design and innovation, custom tooling, decoration, warehousing and logistics management, quality assurance and regulatory compliance support.
“We are excited to welcome O.Berk to Berlin Packaging. Like Berlin, O.Berk has a long history of supporting customers with packaging products and value-added services,” Berlin Packaging Americas CEO Rick Brandt said in a news release. “This combination expands our industry-leading capabilities and strengthens our expertise in growing beauty, personal care, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical markets.”
Berlin said BlueSky serves small and medium-sized customers across the U.K. and adds value-added services such as decoration and printing, backed by sourcing expertise.
“The acquisition of BlueSky represents a strategic step in expanding our presence and capabilities in the UK market,” Berlin Packaging EMEA President Marcel Schröder said. “BlueSky brings deep cross-sector expertise and a complementary portfolio of materials and packaging solutions that enhance our existing offering.”
Terms of the two deals were not disclosed.
