According to industry reports, Consolidated Electrical Distributors (CED) — No. 5 on MDM’s 2022 Top Electrical Distributors List — has acquired Amperage Electrical Supply, expanding CED’s presence in the Chicagoland market.

Based in the northwest suburb of Roselle, Illinois, Amperage has annual revenues of approximately $100 million. Its addition reportedly makes CED the largest contractor-focused electrical distributor in the Chicagoland area.

An Eaton distributor and IMARK Electrical member, Amperage operates out of a warehouse near O’Hare International Airport and two branches in Elk Grove Village and Chicago. The company’s customer base is largely small- to mid-sized electrical contractors.

Amperage will complement CED’s current Chicago area presence comprised of 500,000-square-feet of warehouse across Efengee Electrical-branded locations in Naperville, Tinley Park and Crystal Lake.

Amperage will continue to operate under its own name, and former owner Vito Pelagio will remain with the company.
