Now Private, L.S. Starrett Appoints New Leaders

Bosch Tool's former CEO has taken the same role at L.S. Starrett, succeeding Douglas Starrett.

Athol, MA-based precision tools, cutting tools and metrology systems manufacturer L.S. Starrett appointed four new executives, including a new CEO.

Roger Amrol will succeed Douglas Starrett as president and CEO. With 12 years of experience at Robert Bosch Tool Corporation, Amrol served as president for five years, including four years leading the SKIL North American brand and three years overseeing the North America Accessories Business unit. Before joining Bosch, he held a vice president role at Techtronics Industries.

Barry Laughlin has been appointed chief operating officer. He most recently served as COO of Group DEKKO for nine years, after advancing from executive VP of operations. Prior to that, Laughlin spent six years in an operations contract role at Caterpillar Inc.

Jon-Michael Raymond is the new chief revenue officer, bringing over 17 years of experience in the industrial market. His career includes roles as global sales and marketing senior VP at FyterTech Nonwovens, sales and marketing general manager at Mahr, and North American sales and marketing director at Starrett, along with leadership positions at PFERD and Norton, Saint-Gobain Abrasives.

Allen Look has been named global chief information officer. With more than 25 years of IT expertise, including a focus on business leadership, operational excellence, data analysis and cybersecurity, Look previously served as global CIO at FBG and Hayward Holdings, Inc., and provided interim CIO and advisory services in the private equity sector.

The new executives will be based at Starrett’s corporate headquarters in Athol, MA.

On March 11, L.S. Starrett agreed to a go-private transaction with an affiliate of private equity firm MiddleGround Capital. The all-cash transaction was valued at approximately $122 million.
