Kimball Midwest Nabs Another Learning & Development Award

It’s just the latest honor the MRO distributor has garnered during its centennial year of operation.

MRO supplies distributor Kimball Midwest announced has garnered another learning and development award, as the company announced that it was one of 59 organizations honored Oct. 15 in San Diego as part of Chief Learning Officer’s 13th LearningElite Awards Program.

The program recognizes organizations for demonstrating excellence in corporate learning across five key dimensions: learning strategy, leadership commitment, learning execution, learning impact and business performance result.

It was the third straight year Kimball Midwest has earned the honor.

Columbus, Ohio-based Kimball Midwest — No. 38 on MDM’s 2023 Top Industrial Distributors List and No. 16 for MRO — appeared alongside organizations including Cleveland Clinic Health Systems, Dell and Johnson & Johnson.

To qualify for LearningElite, organizations undergo a rigorous evaluation process, answering a series of comprehensive questions about their learning function, which is reviewed by a team of judges.

“Our world-class training programs empower our sales team to bring the Kimball Midwest Experience to customers around the nation,” Kimball Midwest Director of Sales Development Kate Callison said. “Our culture highly values continuous improvement, so we’re constantly looking for ways to help our customers thrive every day.”

It’s just the latest award racked up by Kimball Midwest. This past July, the distributor earned its seventh consecutive appearance on Selling Power Magazine’s “50 Best Companies to Sell For” list, charting at No. 19 for 2023. In February, the company was one of 105 recipients of Training Magazine’s 2023 Training APEX Award.

In other news, Oct. 6 marked the grand opening of Kimball Midwest’s newest distribution center in Newtown, Connecticut — its fifth such facility overall.

And this past May, Kimball Midwest President Patrick McCurdy III joined the MDM Podcast to discuss his company’s constant improvement, which includes its recent training and development efforts.

All of that activity has come amid Kimball Midwest celebrating 100 years in business throughout 2023.
