Founded in 2023 by Nicholas Gordon, SIMPL uses advanced engineering and AI tech to help distribution facilities operate faster and more efficiency. The company announced the launch of its ADAPTIV automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) in early 2025.
Home Depot detailed that the acquisition follows a successful pilot of SIMPL’s technology at its Locust Grove, GA distribution center that resulted in faster pick speed, cycle times and less product touches.
Staples likewise was piloting SIMPL’s ASRS technology at its Montgomery, AL facility as of this past summer.
The company added that SIMPL’s ASRS helps maximize storage density. This allows Home Depot to house a broader assortment of high-demand products closer to its customers, ultimately providing customers with faster and more seamless delivery and expanded product availability.
